Sam Greenwood Middlesbrough are closing in on a loan deal for Leeds United's Sam Greenwood. The Whites forward is reportedly in advanced talks to join Michael Carrick's side in what would be a temporary move, before tomorrow night's deadline.
Greenwood has found game time hard to come by at Elland Road this term. The big-money signing of Joel Piroe and the reintegration of Wilfried Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra has seen the 21-year-old fall down in the pecking order. The versatile forward hade made over 30 appearances for Leeds, playing in attacking midfield as well as up front.
“I really love Jamie,” said Farke. “He's, sometimes, really underrated because he can play all positions. Wherever he plays, he's always reliable, always solid, always a good team-mate, gives us everything. “Sometimes, even a bit of his problem [is] he has to play so many different roles instead of coming into rhythm on one role, but he proved again tonight he is an unbelievably important piece of our squad and I'm really, really happy to have him, definitely.”
