Mark Winterburn, 33, has been jailed for 14 years
A dangerous rapist who climbed into a woman’s West Yorkshire home through an insecure bedroom window and attacked her as she slept has been jailed for 14 years.
A judge at Bradford Crown Court today heard how Winterburn’s victim, who must not be identified for legal reasons, was left feeling vulnerable and dirty after he raped her more than two years ago.In her victim impact statement read by prosecutor Brian Russell the complainant, who was at court to see Winterburn jailed, described how giving evidence at his trial felt like a blur.
He said Winterburn had experience of entering properties uninvited as a burglar although he had no previous convictions for sexual offences.
