Leeds man and woman arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences as police search house
Two people from Leeds have been arrested by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North East on suspicion of being involved in terrorism offences.
A 30-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man from Yeadon were arrested on Friday on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. They were taken to a police station in West Yorkshire for questioning and a property in Yeadon, near Leeds, is also being searched as part of the investigation.A spokeswoman for the Counter Terrorism Police said: "Warrants of Further Detention have been granted for both people until Friday, December 9. This is an intelligence-led operation."
