It comes as more of the 'saved' shops are set to reopen as Poundland this weekend as well
Shoppers around the country will have their final chance to visit a Wilko store on Sunday as the company shuts down its last remaining stores after more than 90 years of trading. The company has been closing down all of its 400 stores around the country after it collapsed into administration two months ago.
A total of 71 Wilko stores were bought from the administrators PwC by Poundland, and the first 10 rebranded shops reopened last month. Rescued stores in Melton Mowbray, Matlock, Chepstow, Nottingham, Worcester, Ellesmere Port, Brigg, Redruth, Ferndown and Pontypool are to open on Saturday October 7.
