The allegation related to an incident in Blackpool
A police officer tasered a man when it was not "necessary or proportionate" before her sergeant taunted him as he lay on the floor, a misconduct hearing heard.
PC McLachlan, who was trained and authorised to use tasers, use the device to restrain the man and knock him to the floor. However, two of three neighbours who gave evidence said he did not appear to pose a serious threat and was stood around six feet away from the officers. One described him as being "quite comical" while the other said he was in a "comedy fight pose". A third neighbour reported seeing him assault an officer.
Further allegation stated that when the footage was uploaded, it was deliberately marked as "non-evidential" which meant it would be automatically deleted after 30 days. The incident was ultimately investigated following an anonymous report from another officer who was concerned over how the entire process was handled.
