Those visiting the Community and Traditions stage will experience everything from traditional Lancashire Clogging mixed with Appalachian flat foot to local choirs to Indian dancing.Cabinet member for culture and leisure services at Preston City Council councillor Peter Kelly said: “The Community and Traditions Stage at Encounter Festival is a true celebration of our local talent and cultural heritage. It brings together diverse performances, from traditional to artistry.
“This vibrant platform showcases the rich tapestry of creativity that flourishes within our community. I invite everyone to join us at the Community and Traditions Stage, where we will experience the beauty and diversity of our region’s cultural expressions.”Hosting the stage will be Hussnain Hanif who broadcasts on BBC Radio Lancashire before he passes the mic to John Gillmore of Radio Lancs in the evening ahead of the torchlight procession.
All the events on the Community and Traditions stage are free to attend and it’s operating from 1pm to 7.30pm on the Saturday.runs at various venues throughout Preston city centre from Friday 15 September to Sunday 17 September with many events free to attend.
