The list of sales includes a potential housing site

Lancashire County Council is expected to rake in almost £2.5m when it sells land and former office buildings next month.

The authority has six lots due to be sold by Pugh Auctions including building in Burnley, Morecambe and Chorley and a potential housing site in Colne. If each lot achieves its listed guide price, the total sales will add up to some £2.39million. Among the items on sale are Chaddesley House in Burnley town centre and a 19th century stone-fronted office building in Morecambe. Both are listed with Pugh as potentially being "suitable for alternative uses" but would require planning permission for any significant change of use.

The final listing is a plot of land in Colne which fronts Greenfield Road but can also be accessed from the A56 Burnley Road. Now an overgrown patch of land, it could soon be earmarked for housing when Pendle's Local Plan is next published. Under current proposals, the land is due to be listed as the location of a new housing development. While in a conservation area, the site which lies adjacent to it has also been proposed as a possible residential development site. The listing states: "In response to the consultation on the Colne Neighbourhood Plan Lancashire County Council Estates Department has made representations to include this land in the allocation.
