May Young Breen discovered the missing treasures on Sunday morning, including holy water she brought from Ireland especially for him.
"I bought these new ones just this year and I nearly died when I went up, I was so upset. I went to see him on Sunday and they were gone. The retiree will never stop visiting her beloved husband's grave, but, she is worried about placing more personalised items there in case they also disappear."I'm just so heartbroken. I really spend a lot of time up there making it look nice but I just feel defeated.May isn't the only person to fall victim to the problem as other mourners have told stories of their own loss.
"Another lady was looking around for a plaque with 'Mum' on it but that had been taken just after her mother had been buried."I have asked the council to put a camera at the gate to make sure they can see who is coming in and out."
