A Labour MP who was the target of a far-right murder plot has quit politics.
LabourRosie Cooper has resigned her West Lancashire seat after 17 years, a move which will trigger a by-election.
He gave a Nazi salute to his supporters in court as he was taken away to the cells in May 2019 after admitting preparing an act of terror he described as ‘white jihad’. She said: ‘I leave with a heavy heart, knowing that despite my efforts to distance myself from events in the past, the choice of broadcasters to re-tell this story is out of my control.‘I hope in the future, production companies will be more considerate of the effect that these programmes and the publicity campaign surrounding them, will have on the victims of crimes regardless of how public that crime was.
The Treasury said last night she had been appointed Steward and Bailiff of the Three Hundreds of Chiltern by the Chancellor.
