Labour MP Christina Rees, has had the Labour party whip suspended after staff lodged a bullying complaint against her.
LabourChristina Rees is also understood to have had her party membership ‘administratively suspended’ while an investigation takes place.The GuardianThe paper added that local party members claimed several of her staff made ‘detailed’ statements, backed up with evidence, to Labour HQ.Ms Rees, who was shadow Welsh secretary under Jeremy Corbyn, will now sit as an independent until the complaint has been handled.
In a statement to the Guardian, she explained: ‘There has been a complaint made against me to the Labour Party, which is under investigation and I am therefore under an administrative suspension until the process is concluded.A Labour Party spokeswoman said: ‘We do not comment on individual complaints.’
