Multi-award winning artist KT Tunstall headlined the event and left the crowd gathering beaming.
Now thousands of professional and amateur cyclists are set to take part in multiple events over the next 10 days as they battle it out for a gold medal.The competition kicks off tomorrow, August 3, and will end on Sunday, August 13. During that period George Square will act as the official fan zone showcasing the sights, sounds and excitement of the inaugural cycling event.
There will also be themed days held at the city centre location. With a family day taking place on August 8 and a Surge festival day taking place on August 11.KT Tunstall performed at the ceremony
