Kristensen has struggled for traction at Roma after joining the club on loan from Leeds United this summer
Leeds United loanee Rasmus Kristensen looks set to be left out of AS Roma’s squad list for this season’s Europa League. That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who claim Kristensen could be the unlucky man to miss out on the squad, due to financial fair play restrictions.
But, due to spending restrictions placed on the club, only five of their new signings may be able to be registered to feature in the European competition this season. With transfer costs, depreciation, salary costs and commissions to take into account, the report claims Kristensen might miss out due to the inclusion of two other right-backs in Rick Karsdrop and Zeki Celik.
Sardar Azmoun is touted as the other man to miss out, while Evan Ndicka, Renato Sanches, Leandro Paredes, Houssem Aouar, and Romelu Lukaku should be included. Diego Llorente, who returned to the Stadio Olimpico on loan from Leeds over the summer, is expected to remain on the list after helping Roma to the Europa League final last time around.
The 26-year-old was then dropped for Friday night’s clash with AC Milan as he watched the entirety of the contest from the bench. After a difficult first season with Leeds, Kristensen will be keen to eventually build some momentum in Italy before he is due to return to Elland Road in the summer.
