Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy is one of 14 celebs pulling on their dancing shoes for this year's Strictly Come Dancing which is rumoured to begin in September
Krishnan Guru-Murthy has revealed that his doctor can't guarantee he 'won't drop dead on Strictly' due to his genetic heart condition.
Krishnan suffers from the heart condition hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which has caused the death of two of his cousins. Krishnan has the full support of his wife as he tries something new by going on Strictly this year, where he will be joined by other celebs such as former Love Island star, Zara McDermott, and EastEnders' Bobby Brazier.
The genetic disease thickens the muscle walls of the heart and, in some cases, can lead to cardiac arrest. The exciting news was announced in early August by Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman on her BBC Radio 2 show.
