Here's what you need to know about the historic event
The date of the coronation of King Charles III has been confirmed, following his accession to the throne.
According to the palace, the coronation will be “rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry”. However, it will also “reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future”.As reported by Gloucester Live, the ceremony will see Charles III anointed with holy oil. During the event, he will be given the orb, coronation ring and sceptre, and be crowned with St Edward’s Crown.
“The coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort.
