Innes Cameron bagged the crucial goal as Killie go back up to fourth in the Scottish Premiership.
Kilmarnock got back to winning ways against Motherwell making it three wins in their last three home games.
Dan Armstrong went close in the ninth minute after he latched on to a Matty Kennedy pass before fizzing a low effort just past Liam Kelly’s post. It took Killie just four minutes of the second half to take the lead when David Watson laid off Cameron who happily smashed it into the roof of the net.
