Sir Keir Starmer has set out Labour’s five national “missions” which will act as the core of the party’s manifesto ahead of the next general election.
At a speech in Manchester today, Sir Keir criticised the Conservative party for 13 years of “inaction” which he said has seen public services falter and the economy stagnate, adding that Rishi Sunak’s “clapped-out” government are incapable of fixing the deep-seated problems facing the UK. Sir Keir added the five missions will be based around the economy, climate, crime, skills — with a particular focus on education and childcare — and the NHS.
