Kay apologised after ‘inadvertently’ breaking Covid-19 restrictions while celebrating her 60th birthday,
Kay’s eponymous programme on Sky News has been on air since 2018, transitioning from the afternoon to the breakfast slot in 2019.
When Kay was found to have breached lockdown rules in the English capital, she wasn’t the only Sky employee caught out. Correspondents Beth Rigby and Inzamam Rashid, who attended Kay’s birthday bash, also agreed to take three months off air at the time., referring to them in her apologetic statement by writing: ‘Some dear friends and colleagues – some of the most talented and committed professionals in our business – have been pulled into this episode and I regret this enormously.’
