Kate Middleton's 40th birthday gowns recall wedding to William with special link
Kensington Palace has released three stunning new portraits of the Duchess of Cambridge ahead of her 40th birthday.
The portraits also pay tribute to the Queen and Princess Diana through Kate's choice of jewellery, and it's believed her decision to wear McQueen dresses for the photos is a nod to her and husband Prince William's royal wedding. The Duchess' choice to wear three gowns by the same designer for her birthday portraits is believed to be her way of paying tribute to her and William's historic wedding day.
Jennie also points out how Kate's style has became even more polished over recent years as she continues to grow in confidence. The new portraits of Kate were taken at Kew Gardens in November by famed fashion photographer Paolo Roversi, and they will enter the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery when it reopens in 2023.
