Things got emotional for Derek
Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway has shared her husband Derek Draper's reaction to Sir Elton John's heart-warming tribute to them both.
The concert seemed to be worth the trip as the former Labour Party advisor got a shout-out from the singer. While on Smooth FM Kate said: "Right up to the last minute, I wasn’t sure if it would be possible to get Derek there. It took weeks of planning and just days before, it looked like he would be too sick to attend. Even on the journey there, he seemed so weak.
Elton then went on to perform his 1974 hit Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me in tribute to the Garraway family, Birmingham Live reports.
