JK Rowling opted to sit out Harry Potter reunion but will appear in archival footage

The Harry Potter creator chose not to film an interview for the new reunion. She will still appear in old footage shot in 2019. Sources say Rowling's views on trans issues weren't an issue in her decision.

Rowling, 56, has been the subject of an ongoing row which kicked off last year over her views on transgender issues. In June 2020, she took to Twitter to criticize an opinion piece that used the term 'people who menstruate' instead of women
