The Reckoning is a four-part series about how Savile used his celebrity status to conceal his crimes
Further details and casting have been announced for upcoming new drama The Reckoning about Leeds-born broadcaster and prolific sex offender Jimmy Savile.
Actor and comedian Steve Coogan will play Savile. A publicity shot released by the BBC shows Coogan dressed in a tracksuit, wearing a blonde wig, sitting in a chair.Four survivors of Savile who have contributed to The Reckoning will also feature in the series, interviewed on camera to offer their further insight and to reflect on their experiences in the hope that the telling of their stories will prevent something like it happening again.
The Reckoning is written by Neil McKay who also wrote The Moorside. Steve Coogan has previously explained why he decided to play Savile.
