She shared her story to help other women
The sister of Nottingham-born ex-footballer Jermaine Pennant has revealed she has the same diagnosis as her sibling. Speaking exclusively for the first time, after preferring to remain in the shadow of her brother's fame, Rochelle Pennant, from The Meadows, has shared her story to help other women who may feel bewildered by their symptoms - and don't know where to turn.
“I have to take melatonin at night because I can't sleep. Coming on this show, I've already played this show out in my mind twice over. It’s like trying to manage eight screens. It’s a very busy, active brain.” On the advice of a fixer, Pennant paid £1.2m for a six-bedroom mansion in Cheshire in 2006 which he then forgot about after moving from Liverpool to Real Zaragoza in Spain three years later.
"He was unusual but fun at the same time. I could never manage my anger at a young age". She has never seen Jermaine "lose it" - and believed he has more impulse control. "It kind of came to light that the specialists were wrong and people didn't grow out of it." Although she coped well at first she later struggled - and was told she was aggressive, messy, untidy and unfocused.
"There are a lot of people out there like me. I'm not broken... I'm just rewired... a little bit different. Because of my brother's fame in Nottingham, whether I like it or not, I have a lot of celebrity status attached to it.
