Many are under the impression that EA have themselves blocked players from progressing further, while others are thinking that the original poster has simply picked up a Disc copy of the game without completing the ‘initial download.’ We recently reported that, so it’s surprising to see gamers still unaware of this.
Some commenters are retorting that “[Original Poster] bought this first day,” implying it’s their own fault for not waiting for more information, while others are pointing their pitchforks at EA for “[assuming] we all have internet access all the time” to download huge updates. Whatever the cause for this gamer being unable to progress through the game without installing a patch, it seems that EA have their work cut out for them.
