DJ Mark The 45 King has died aged 62 Tributes have been flooding in for legendary music producer DJ Mark The 45 King following his death. The celebrated producer, real name Mark Howard James, died on Thursday at the age of 62. His manager confirmed the sad news, however no further details on his death have so far been released.
You gave me a canvas to have a conversation with the world!! The legendary producer worked with everyone from Jay-Z to Madonna ‘You changed my life. Even when the life is short, the art is long!!’ James’ track The 900 Number, which helped inspire Jay-Z, was released in 1987, has been given new life time and time again in being sampled by newer artists. Public Enemy, Chad Jackson, Ced Gee, Breakestra and DJ Kool are among the countless musicians who made the track their own.
