Stephen Kenny hands Wrexham star a call-up for game later this month

James McClean will make what is sure to be an emotional final appearance in an Ireland shirt after he was included in the squad for the friendly against New Zealand this month.

The Derry man announced in October he was retiring from international football at the end of the 2023 campaign. Now the Wrexham winger will have the chance to say a proper goodbye in front of his own fans in Dublin. The game could also bring the curtain down on Kenny's reign in charge as Ireland play for pride after a disappointing Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.

Kenny has been linked with taking over at Lincoln City as he said he remained in the dark regarding his future with Ireland.
