'I found him invisible...' F1

Jacques Villeneuve feels 2023 will be an “important” year for Sergio Perez after a 2022 season which he believes should have produced more.

Verstappen wrapped up his second successive Drivers title in Japan as Red Bull went for their first ever one-two finish in the Drivers’ Championship, but Perez fell just 1.

“Perez was strong in the beginning of the season, then I found him invisible,” Villeneuve wrote in his column for“In the last races, he rebounded and was competitive. But over the year as a whole, he could have done better. Ricciardo initially left Red Bull at the end of 2018 due to an increasingly strained relationship with Verstappen and Red Bull, feeling the team was gravitating towards the young Dutchman, and while he would leap at the chance to return to the Red Bull line-up after that failed McLaren stint, he has made it clear that he still has ambitions to chase.
