The NBA has suspended Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant for 25 games next season for brandishing a gun in a social media video.said the 23-year-old was suspended without pay"for conduct detrimental to the league".
He was previously suspended for eight games after another live stream showed him with a gun while"intoxicated" and visiting a nightclub in March. Mr Silver added:"The potential for other young people to emulate Ja's conduct is particularly concerning."Under these circumstances, we believe a suspension of 25 games is appropriate and makes clear that engaging in reckless and irresponsible behaviour with guns will not be tolerated."Morant apologised to the NBA, the Grizzlies, his teammates, and the city of Memphis for his actions.
