Connor Graham is reflecting on the “best golfing experience” of his life after competing in the Walker Cup.
“It was incredible - definitely the best golfing experience of my life,” Connor told the PA this week.While GB&I were edged out 14½-11½ overall, Connor did himself more than proud across the event. In his singles match on Sunday, Connor pushed Stewart Hagestad - who has US Open and Masters appearances behind him - all the way.
“It definitely helps knowing that I can play and compete with some of the best amateurs in the world.“Stewart gave me a few kind words, saying how impressed he was and looking forward to the future. I was pretty happy with how I played overall.” “You are not just playing for yourself, you are playing for your team and you don’t want to make yourself look silly in front of the crowds. I just tried to play well and get the crowd cheering for me.
