It's been causing significant disruption
IT services at Nottingham hospitals have been restored after a trust-wide issue. In an earlier statement on Twitter,Nottinghamshire Live had been told that services were affected since early the afternoon, at around 12.30pm on Tuesday . But shortly after 4pm, the services had been restored, NUH said.
Lisa Kelly, Chief Operating Officer at Nottingham University Hospitals, said: “At 12.23pm today we experienced a failure of our IT systems. Business continuity measures were put in place immediately and our IT systems are now working as normal.“Patients should continue to attend their appointments and access our services as normal. I would like to thank our staff for responding quickly and professionally and we apologise to those patients who experienced disruption.
Sources said the hospitals were "paralysed" because "all systems" had been down. In a previous statement on Twitter, NUH said: "Please note we are aware of a Trust wide IT issue. ICT is working on a fix. Enact your business continuity plans and cascade this message to your teams." A spokesperson for the trust has confirmed that the issue is not related to a cyber-attack incident. The cause of the incident is unclear at this stage.
