David Healy was scathing in his criticism of the Irish FA after Northern Ireland's defeat to Kazakhstan last Sunday
The Irish FA says it has "engaged directly" with David Healy in the aftermath of the former striker's scathing criticism of the association.
He questioned whether the financial windfall from those finals - believed to be in the region of £10m - had been invested wisely. "We have engaged directly with David in recent days to discuss those comments, which of course we acknowledge. We clarified with him that the JD Academy has been in existence since 2019 and has already produced three senior international footballers.
It was back in 2012 that the IFA outlined one of its major aims was to create a flagship facility to support elite level football here.
