"Because we removed the armor, we knew it needed a way to protect itself," Trachtenberg adds."That led to the development of its shield, which represents this older kind of weaponry, but they way it unfurls feels far more advanced [than a human version]. To that end, Prey's cast almost entirely comprises Native and First Nation actors, including Midthunder, an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe, and proud Hunkpapa Lakota, Sahiya Nakoda, and Sisseton Dakota.
