The Nursing and Midwifery Council found that Eleanor Best's 'actions constituted serious professional misconduct' and they ordered that she be removed from the register.
A Glasgow nurse who drew up incorrect doses of anaesthetic and insulin and lied about attending appointments has been struck off.
Best, who worked in adult nursing in Glasgow, was struck off due to misconduct and lack of competence, with an interim suspension order of 18 months. Her fitness to practice has been deemed impaired.According to released hearing documents the following charges against Best were found proven: - Failed to visit Patient A on December 18, 2018.- On September 17, drew up 10mgs of Midazolam when making up a syringe driver as opposed to five-mgs.
- In a meeting with Colleague 4 on December 21, 2021 stated that you had visited Patient D on December 15, 2021 when you had not. On the decision and reasons on misconduct, a statement from the hearing read: "The panel was of the view that your actions did fall significantly short of the standards expected of a registered nurse, and that your actions amounted to a breach of the code, the panel was of the view that your actions were a serious departure from the standards expected of a registered nurse. The panel has concluded that your actions constituted serious professional misconduct.
"All of this had the potential to put patients at risk of harm. In all the circumstances, the panel determined that your performance demonstrated a lack of competence."
