Lanarkshire mum Nicole Rudder is one step closer to achieving her dream of transforming the derelict Garrion Tower near Wishaw into a luxury hotel and wedding venue.

was originally a summer home to the bishops of Glasgow and later used as part of a fruit and vegetable farm.

With no interest from potential buyers, the price was reduced to offers over £450,000. In November, Nicole, from Chapelhall nearThe mum-of-two's ambitious plans to restore the building and turn it into a thriving hotel and wedding venue have now taken a massive step forward after a formal planning application was submitted.

"By way of comprehensive design evolution, a clear vision for the site has been established. This includes a distinct development of appropriate siting, scale, density, form, height, and massing in respect to the existing Garrion Tower – creating a scheme that is easy to move around, attractive to pedestrians, cyclists, and people with disabilities, and is also integrated within existing green networks.

Nicole said: “This is our most exciting update yet, it’s a very special day as we have just submitted our proposals for planning approval by North Lanarkshire Council.
