Wilko's administration sale isn't in every store
Ever since I was a student, it's always been the shop to go to for the most boring - but necessary - purchases on earth.
I actually didn't plan to go do some light investigative journalism at ailing retailer Wilko today, following the news that the cheap homeware chain has collapsed into administration and has now begun an 'administration sale' on thousands of items. No, in age old tradition, I was out and about anyway and I needed some boring home stuff. To be precise, I needed a new washing line pole for the garden and possibly a new Egyptian cotton sheet for the attic bedroom.
Of course, Wilko has good prices anyway, so it was hardly a penance to have to pay the full price £3.50 for a washing line pole and £2.20 for a new washing line .
