Michelle Howarth was taking a shower when all of a sudden the security she had craved for so long was under threat
When Michelle Howarth moved into her home in Padiham in December 2021, she couldn't have been more proud.
Michelle went to see her GP who said she didn't think it was anything sinister, but sent her for a mammogram at Burnley General Hospital to put her mind at rest. With no family history of breast cancer, Michelle was expecting another explanation. "It was so hard because I had just lost my mum to cancer", Michelle said. "The day they were able to confirm it was her birthday. All I was bothered about was my house."
"With the hormone treatment, my mental health was bad. It takes away your oestrogen and puts you into a medical menopause and I was snapping at everyone. "I have three adult children and three grandchildren but I can't be the mum or grandma I want to be. It is hard for me to concentrate on anyone else.
Michelle has set up a crowd funder with Go Fund Me and hopes to raise £2,000 to help with her mortgage payments. She said: "If I can just get a few months in the bank I will be able to stop worrying that I am going to lose my home.
