Inside Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Journey to Hell where things go bump in the night
Darkness has fallen, there's a sharp chill in the air and all I can hear is faint screams in the distance. Just ahead of me are a set of imposing, rusting metal gates have been locked and bolted by giant chains, supposedly keeping people out for the night.

As I moved through the park I was constantly on edge and expecting something or someone to jump out at me, having no route to follow was unnerving and disorienting, something which I have no doubt was the intention of the gloriously sick minds that came up with this new plan and I fell right into that particular spook trap.
The sound of roller-coasters creaking into life and suddenly whooshing by out of the shadows, the purposely dimly-lit walk ways and spotlights in bushes and plants creating eerie, swaying silhouettes added to the disorienting and eerie experience.
If you're looking for a short, sharp scare, then the standalone Passaje De Terror attraction located just outside the park is an ideal option, as it only lasts around 10 minutes and could also be a good way to warm up for Journey to Hell. It is also possible to book-on for both.
