When I decided to properly begin experimenting with make-up at home, aged 16, a family member told me to ‘get that s**t off your face’. They couldn’t understand what I was doing or why. It took a massive toll on my mental health, and although I tried to ignore the abuse, subconsciously I was always listening. I started to believe what they were saying and my self-esteem and confidence was very low.
