It looks like a 'crack den' but does tin foil in the windows really cool your house?
It's so hot. You might have noticed the UK has been suffering the hottest day on record today and as such we are all trying anything we can to keep cool.
So I sent that advice out there but then I thought, let's go one better: let's test it out. Does kitchen foil really keep your house cool in a heatwave? So I taped the foil across the window as night fell ready for the next morning. The only tape I could find was some 'FRAGILE' box tape from when I moved to Leeds way back in 2020, which I think definitely adds to the 'homemade crack den' aesthetic.
