We hit the discounted shelves of a Booths supermarket to see if we could get a meal for two for £10
We all like a bargain and often you it's interesting to see what goodies you can get in supermarket's discounted sections.
I'm no stranger to this section, so I knew there were some goodies to be found, particularly as Booths is known as a higher-end supermarket. So with that in mind, we set off to the shop with a £10 note and a desire to find a meal for two in that section alone. Of course, that would have been a great option for a meal under £10, particularly with the mackerel for £1.57 - but something else caught our eye. For the more expensive price of £3.69 there was a packet of 'slow braised shin of beef tortelloni' - utterly delicious and not something I'd usually buy, so why not?
For a starter or snack, I opted for a scotch egg simply because on the day I visited the section there seemed to be a surplus amount of the foodstuff. With different varieties, I chose the 'all day breakfast' one for £1.88.
