Denise Evans was one of the first people to ride the Big Dipper at Blackpool Pleasure Beach moments after it turned 100
Most of us will have experienced a fit of giggles in our time, usually over something relatively unfunny to everyone else. I didn't expect to have my latest one sitting on a wooden rollercoaster in the rain.
From memory, I last rode this iconic masterpiece around 20 years ago, when I was still in my teens. It was always one of the top five rides I would be desperate to go on with my friends, alongside The Big One, Avalanche, Ice Blast and Valhalla. It was great to try out what I know is the result of months of hard work. I watched engineers in the park's huge workshop warehouse in the off-season, painstakingly repair, repaint and maintain each car individually.
