Lurpak is delicious but the cost forces many to look elsewhere
As the cost of living crisis dominated headlines over the last year, one food item in particular was held up as an example of sky rocketing prices. Such was the extent of Lurpak's sudden price increases, some shops began placing security tags on tubs to deter thieves.
Tesco was marginally better, being soft and easy enough to spread right away. The slightly salted block of 'Butterpak' was the cheapest on the shelf when I went out for this test, boasting that it was Aldi price matched, but it didn't stack up to others in terms of flavour.Asda's Just Essentials got a bit of a bashing in my coffee review but they're really made up for it with their soft spread butter.
