Tim McCann had a glittering Irish League career but it all ended abruptly in December 2007
The Irish League legend endured three cruciate ligament injuries during his time in the game, leading to surgeries and arduous rehabilitation programmes where much of the work was done in solitary.
"They had some team with Gary Smyth, Justin McBride, Rory Hamill. But that December I did my cruciate and I ended up doing eight-and-a-half months of rehab. "I just started punching the ground, because I knew then and there that my career was over. I couldn't have gone through it again, at that age." He added: "I couldn't have gone through the work I needed to do. I knew the mental strength it took to get through it .
