During a discussion on Good Morning Britain about accents, Blethered podcast host Sean McDonald said that he feels he has been perceived in a certain way due to his strong Glaswegian accent.

He told hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley:"I think with the Scottish accent there's often a sort of immediate anticipation of imminent violence.Susanna asked:"Has it held you back?" He answered:"I think at times it has, I have missed out on opportunities - if it's a presenter thing, maybe you're a bit too Scottish for the audience.

"But in other times I have to say and I do accept it has gone in my favour because it's a unique selling point."Sir Keir Starmer’s push for the use of correct grammar has ignited a backlash from one headteacher who says this may lead to children being judged on their accents.
