“That was 10 years ago and I’m still hopeful that we will have a baby. I will then go back on to the pill and hopefully get some of the endometriosis symptoms under control again.” “Being faced with a decision about going on contraceptives to help with the pain is really difficult. But the problem is we don’t have a good non-hormonal treatment for endometriosis at the moment so that’s something that’s urgently needed,” he said.with ongoing studies at the University of Edinburgh, but the clinical trial stage has not yet been completed.
There are currently four studies funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research into the effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery in comparison to management by medical hormonal treatment.
