A confusing image hiding a series of numbers had thousands of people on social media puzzled about what they really are.
In the image, a hypnotic mass of black swirls conceals a set of numbers hidden in its centre which is up for debate. Depending on who you ask, the answer depends on how many numbers you can see, which could be just two or up to seven.
The mesmerising image has been a source of confusion for those reporting a wide range of numbers in the image. People gathered online to share the numbers, the number of numbers - and what it could possibly mean. Reactions varied on social media as some worried about their eye health, with one person responding: One user replied: "45 283...and what's the catch? Should I book an appointment with my GP?"One person said they had mixed results by moving the image up and down: "528. And I can see some other numbers that people have mentioned if I scroll back and forth and really try but if I hadn't moved the image they were not visible.
A Twitter user theorised that the number of numbers you can see depends on your contrast sensitivity. Meanwhile, others busted out image editing tools to get to the bottom of the matter by clearing up the image.
