People have gone from cutting back on luxuries to going without basics. Parents are going hungry to feed their children. Pensioners are facing another winter choosing between heating and eating.
The proposed increases could reach a staggering 22.5 per cent, costing Scots hundreds of pounds every year and piling pressure on to already-stretched finances. This is yet another broken promise from the SNP and a gross betrayal of the people our government should be helping. But this isn’t as good as it gets. Labour has a real plan to tackle the cost of living crisis and delivering lasting prosperity.
