Hull's game against Birmingham was delayed after the club were told they had to readjust their goalposts
Following the match officials’ assessment, the Championship tie – which was set to kick-off at 3pm on Sunday – was delayed by 20 minutes.As well as needing to readjust the goals at the MKM Stadium, the game’s HawkEye technology – which officials use to judge whether the ball had gone over the line – needed to be recalibrated as a result.
“Kick-off this afternoon has been delayed to 3:20pm,” Hull tweeted 25 minutes before the game was due to get underway. “The match officials have informed the club that the goal posts need to be readjusted and HawkEye recalibrated before the match can start.”Advertisement As fans waited for the game to start, Hull staff and officials were seen gathering around one of the goal posts, getting a measuring tape out to measure the length they needed to remove.Hull City vs Birmingham City has been delayed because the goals are too big 🥅
