A widespread power cut is hitting more than 1,000 properties in Stockport on Saturday night, Electricity North West has revealed.
Engineers, said Electricity North West, were heading out to investigate, but no further details have been revealed. On its website, Electricity North West said almost 900 properties were being hit by the outage in the Bredbury Green and Romiley areas. A further 50 were said to be without power in Bramhall South and Woodford. Estimated times of restoration vary between 10.45pm tonight - Saturday - and the early hours of Sunday, January 8.It added: "This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable that provides electricity to your home or business.
