Some parents who claim Universal Credit could be entitled to claim back up to 85% of their childcare costs
You don't need us to tell you how expensive childcare can be, and it's understandable why so many parents can't afford to go back to work and pay for childcare, no matter how much they might want to. There is a glimmer of hope however as the Government are finally, but in the meantime for parents, those who are eligible for Universal Credit could get a helping hand with childcare costs to help you get back to work.
To be eligible, the first thing you need to ensure is that you and your partner need to both be in work or have a job offer on the table. It doesn't matter whether these jobs are full-time or part-time, all that matters is that you're both in work. If there's a change in your employment or you stop working, you must report any changes in your Universal Credit Account.If you're not yet claiming Universal Credit, then it's worth checking if you're eligible. Especially if you're looking into financial help when it comes to childcare.
