Opening up a conversation about the role privilege plays in many manifestation success stories can go a long way towards helping people understand it’s not their fault if the things on their vision board feel a million miles away from their current reality.
“I absolutely think we should be talking about privilege in manifestation even though it's a tough conversation to have,” says Vix Maxwell, author of. “A lot of us carry huge amounts of conscious or unconscious shame and/or guilt around our privilege or lack thereof and so it's easier not to mention it at all than have to face our own shadow or ask others to face theirs.
La Pompe-Moore believes that “no amount of affirmations, visualising, being grateful or working hard can eradicate inequity” but that “we can individually do everything we can to change how we see and respond to life, and that is the richest reward.” Maxwell agrees: “There are some things that just aren't going to be for us, no matter how hard we try to make it so. For example, I'm never going to be an astronaut no matter how much I might think I want it. But I do believe we can achieve anything that's in alignment with our best and highest good.”
It’s true that manifestation can offer a useful framework for tuning in to what we really want out of life regardless of our current starting point or circumstances and just because your journey might be longer or harder than someone else’s doesn’t mean you’ll never get there.
